You’ll start to see a number of links on the bottom of posts on this blog that are shown as Zemanta Related Articles.  This is a free service provided by a plugin in WordPress.  Once I’ve begun to type a post, Zemanta analyzes the content and suggests relevant links.

All I have to do is choose those links that I think are appropriate and might be of value to my readers, and they are placed at the bottom of the post by Zemanta.  There are also images available, with an easy one-click image placement in the post.

A new feature just introduced by Zemanta is an addon for Firefox that will allow the same abilities in Gmail and Yahoo Mail.  I just installed it, and it seems to work perfectly in allowing me to insert a relevant image and links into my outgoing emails.  Check out the additional links below provided by Zemanta.

After the related links sections, I’ve placed a short video in Premium Content to show how Zemanta looks in WordPress and Gmail.

I tried a couple, but didn’t like the format I would receive at times (especially when frames were involved). I also wasn’t happy with the time to load and file size of the email. I do a lot of research, and like to email pages to my Gmail for automatic labeling, filtering and filing for retrieval later. I prefer a link, and I make sure the title of the email is clear as to what’s in it.

EmailThis is a Firefox addon that does a great job. It even has settings to email into Google and Yahoo Apps. It installs in the right-click menu, and it just takes a second to send myself or someone else a link to a web page.

Once installed, it places an icon in the toolbar that will give the application or page being viewed the entire screen, getting the use of the area usually taken by the top navigation, url bar and tabs.  It actually gives me a lot more room when I really need it.  I just go back to normal view with an item on the right-click toolbar when I’m finished.
